Mistakes we have made.

We're now working on correcting one of our big mistakes on the site, namely, the huge file sizes on many of our photos on the site. These large photo files make some of our pages take forever to load up. You want to hear something funny? When we started adding all our photos, for the women members, I thought it was better to have large photo files. My thinking was the larger the file, the better the photo quality. We also need to go over all the past Newsletters, same problem.

My own mistake. Now you understand why I never completed my mail order brain surgery courses.<<<<Greg here. I didn't have adequate "web knowledge" at the time.

Nina and I are now going through all the photos, we are cutting the files down to a more reasonable size. This process does take some time, but we are making good progress. For you guys with DSL or cable, this isn't a problem for you. We need to get this work done for all the people with regular "dial-up" connections.

We will be back here from time to time to discuss our other mistakes. We have made some mistakes to be sure, but operating this group has been a learning experience, and an enjoyable experience.

Here's another mistake. We had been rolling along, our e-mail system between our male and female members was working without any problems, until.....one of our male members sent a letter to his lady, and we mis-placed it. We did not send it out. A few days pass, and his lady was asking us about her letter. They had been exchanging letters every 2 days or so, and we were wondering what happened. So...we called our male member who proceeded to tell us he had indeed sent a letter a few days ago. We found the letter, apologized to our member, who happens to be a nice guy and who promptly forgave us, and we got the letter out.

We now always send our male members a confirming e-mail, confirming the fact that we received his letter. This is an extra "check" we do to make sure nothing gets lost. Live and learn.

Here's another classic "Greg mistake", and I take full credit for this. When Nina, Arthur and I left Vitebsk for the USA, I forgot to pack the birth-date information on the female members. That's why you will notice no birth-dates on some of the women's profiles. We're working on up-dating all the information on the profiles, and in the meantime if anyone wants that information on any particular woman just let us know, we will have that for you within a few days. Now... back to my mail order brain surgery course.   :-)
