January 07-Belarus Bride Too

We didn't party at all last night....But we did manage to stay up late enough to see the ball drop in Times Square on MSNBC. They were interviewing a few people in the crowd....Some of those people had been standing around Times Square since 11:00 that morning! Now that's some serious New Year celebrating!

Russian Christmas is on Sunday, January 7, we still have our tree up....ready for action again....After that the big holidays will be done over in Vitebsk and things will start to get back to normal....

We have another beautiful morning here, almost like early spring. It's really like spring....Because our spring flowers are coming up. We have one in bloom now! Global warming? Well, we're not complaining....But it is a little strange.

Speaking of strange, Mark & Olga sent us a funny which took place in either New York or New Jersey....Watch out for those crazy Toll-Booth Racers! Thanks Mark & Olga! :-)

And the winner is: Who? The emergency workers who got those people out of the cars.

A flower blooms in January....Which in and of itself isn't necessarily unusual....But the fact that the flower is blooming in Northeastern Ohio in January....Now....That's just a tad bit unusual. That and....We have no ice on our pond....

It's Friday already....Which is always nice. Sunday, January 7 also happens to be Russian Christmas! There's nothing like celebrating Christmas the old fashion way in Vitebsk, ask anyone who's been lucky enough to have had that experience....

Here we are, the holidays are over, it's January 8....It's a New Year! It won't be long till we're thinking Spring! OK....we're getting ahead of ourselves....But....Time does fly.

We had a busy day today....you know how that works....so we're here goofing-off early evening....

It's MLK Day here in the USA today, so lots of people have the day off. We've had so much rain here for the last few days we're thinking about building an Arc! Real strange for January....But we will take that over all the snow and ice we would have had....If the temps were lower....

We are getting some snow this morning, looks more like January now. Paul sent us a funny, if you like Fake Basketball Tits....Here you go! Thanks Paul....

She's put those "Spaldings" to good use. I guess all us guys need to carry a portable X-Ray machine these days.

Well, we did get some snow....Finally....And it's cold! January is officially acting like normal here now.

We have a group of Redbirds who winter here, they pair for life we believe and like to sit right in front of our kitchen window on a large bush that has berries during the winter. They seem to like the berries when it gets cold, and they don't seem to mind us watching them. Nina took this shot of our little friends, look close and you'll see the female, she isn't as red-colored as the male....We think it's neat to have these beautiful birds hanging around.

OK, we admit it....We're a couple of romantics. Actually....Being a couple of romantics is a nice way to go thru life!

We have a nice morning here....Cold, but nice! Anna made it to the USA last evening, we were on the phone with Dale & Anna, she's tired but fine. Anna had an epic journey here to the USA because Lot Airlines cancelled one of her flights on her way here....That added a day to her trip. But....All in all her trip went fine, we're glad to say!

Weather permitting Dale & Anna will be here this weekend for our little Chippy Party! We've been looking forward to that for a while! So....

If we pull-our-party-off we'll post some pics here on the Newsletter. We do hope the weather holds....We're really looking forward to our party!

We do want to welcome Bill to the group this morning. Bill lives in California....he works in electronics in a job which we don't know a lot about....Sure is interesting tho! You learn something new every day....Ain't that the truth. Anyway....Bill is a real nice guy, we have spent some time on the phone together....We're looking forward to our working together and getting to know each other better. So....

We also want to remind you guys that Valentines Day is fast approaching. If you would like to get something for your special lady let us know as soon as possible. Valentina needs time to set all that up to make the event enjoyable for your lady.

Our good friend and member Bruce, who will be on the plane to Vitebsk in the near future....Sent us a funny. Bruce is one nice guy....We're looking forward to he and his Sveta meeting for the first time at the Minsk Airport. For that matter....So are Bruce & Sveta!

Well....The Global-Warming thing isn't working anymore here in Akron....It's "Colder-Than-A-Witch's-Tit"....We figure our little spring flower is history....mmmm...."Witch's-Tit"....

It's tax time here in the USA, which means all of us are gathering all our stuff for 2006 and either doing all that stuff ourselves....or we're hauling all that stuff over to our Accountants. Since Nina and I have no clue what we're doing with that....We spent the day with our Tax Accountant. In other words....We had a wonderful....Fun day. That's why we're publishing today's Newsletter this evening.

As I walked down the busy footpath, knowing I was late for an important meeting, my eye fell upon one of those unfortunate, homeless vagabonds that are found in every city these days.

Wearing what can only be describes as rags, carrying every worldly possession in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this persons condition.

Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would somehow contaminate them.

Recalling some long ago Sunday School admonition to "care for the sick, feed the hungry and clothe the naked," I was moved by some powerful inner urge to reach out to this unfortunate person.

Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a hidden beauty. A small voice inside my head called out, "Reach out, reach out!"

I get out of the hospital in about 3 months.

It would be nice to get a card or maybe a visitor.
