We have a rainy, cold day here today, it's a good day to stay inside and snuggle together. Speaking of being together and snuggling...Paul made it to Vitebsk from Australia, he and his beautiful Russian woman and beautiful Russian bride to-be Tanya have been doing lots of snuggling we hear. Well, we did it. After our snow-storm last night, our area just set the all time snowfall record in 2005 for Northeast Ohio. Ain't life grand?

OK....Our new member Rob, an Englishman, sent us this "Manchester City Football Club" scarf, making us officially fans of this great team. Rob, we're happy to declare our support for Manchester!

Rob also sent us some English chocolates, which we must agree with Rob are much better than what we can get here. Thanks Mate! From what we can remember about those chocolates....They're all ate up already, and that didn't take long around here...They were wonderful!

We have a few announcements today:

Yesterday was Don's birthday! It won't be long now till Don is on the plane to Warsaw to be with his Irina for her interview, then they'll both be on the plane to the USA! We're really looking forward to our get- together here!

Another news flash: Ed is getting on the plane today to fly over to Warsaw to be with his Elena for her interview! Hey Ed! Have a great trip Bud! We're also looking forward to having you guys up here for our get-together! Ed & Elena will be flying back here to the USA next week.

We want to see some great photos from both you guys!

And another news flash: Kevin's Irina has her Warsaw interview tomorrow, after that she'll be on the plane to the USA. Hey Kevin! We're looking forward to having you guys here for our little get-toghether as well. Give us a call when Irina gets here, we can't wait!!

We're due to have a beautiful Spring day here today, about 70 degrees. Man...Spring is a great time of year, especially when we can share this time with the person we love.

This week blew-by...We can't believe it's Friday already.

We've had some nice Spring days here so we got out and did some yard work. Nina planted some hardy perennials and we got a little buddy in there to watch over the new flowers. Here he is hard-at-work......so to speak....

We need to come up with a name for this guy.

Beautiful morning here in Akron Ohio, we love Spring!

We heard from Kevin & Irina last weekend, Irina made it to Chicago without any problems, and those guys took a little tour of Chicago. Irina sounds great....So does Kevin for that matter....and we're looking forward to our get-together soon.

A man took his wife to the rodeo and one of the first exhibits they stopped
at was the breeding bulls.
They went up to the first pen and there was a sign attached that said,
"This Bull Mated 50 Times Last Year."
The wife playfully nudged her husband in the ribs and said, "He mated
50 times last year."
They walked to the second pen which had a sign attached that said,
"This Bull Mated 120 Times Last Year."
The wife gave her husband a healthy jab and said, "That's more than
twice a week. You could learn a lot from him."
They walked to the third pen and it had a sign attached that said, in
capital letters, "THIS BULL MATED 365 TIMES LAST YEAR."

The wife, so excited that her elbow nearly broke her husband's ribs,
said, "THAT'S ONCE A DAY! You could really learn something from this one."

The husband looked at her and said, "Go over there and ask him if it
was with the same cow."
Note: The husband's condition has been upgraded from critical to stable
and he should eventually make a full recovery.

Cute! Nothing like a nice joke to get my Butt moving in the morning.....

It's TGIF time again, and it also happens to be Tax Day here in the USA. We feel sorry for all you procrastinators out there who will be frantically filling-out your forms.....Good luck!

We heard from Ed & Alena yesterday, they made it here to the USA after Alena's interview. We're looking forward to having Ed & Alena here! Way to go Ed & Alena!

Paul & Tanya have had a wonderful time together in Vitebsk, and we understand they had a party with our Alex & Luda. Well, Paul & Alex, we sure hope your hang-overs aren't too bad....;-)

Ed B. sent us a nice joke....Thanks Ed!

An Indian walks  into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male buffalo with the  other.  He says to the waiter, "Me want coffee."
 
The waiter  says, "Sure chief, coming right up."  He gets the Indian a tall mug  of coffee.  The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of animal to splatter every where, then just walks out.
 
 The next  morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand pulling another  male buffalo with the other. He walks up to the counter and says to the  waiter, "Me want coffee."    The waiter  says, "Whoa, Tonto!  We're still cleaning up your mess from  yesterday.  What was all that about, anyway?"
 
The Indian  smiles and proudly says, "Me training for upper management position: Come  in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave mess for others to clean up,  and disappear for rest of day.

 

Ain't that the truth? :-)

We've had summer here the last few days....That will be changing this afternoon. We got out and laid-in a bit of landscaping...here's a shot....

Lots of work, but lots of fun when done together. It always surprises me the amount of work Nina, and all our Russian women can do. I mention that to Nina and she just laughs. Then she describes what they do at the Dachas....Well, you guys who have your wives with you know what I'm talking about.

We have a few things going on today. We heard from Bob & Elena, they will be getting married this weekend!

CONGRATS BOB & ELENA!

OK you guys....We all want to see some of your wonderful wedding photos!

We also got a note from our Bud Rob in England....our Manchester City Football Club won last night, the score was 3-0! Way to go team! Hey Rob! We'll need to have a little get-together this Fall and celebrate! Cleveland is on the way to Montana mate! :-)

Mark & Olga gave us a ring....We're looking forward to you guys making it out here this summer! Hey Mark: I think it's just slightly possible we have a "Chippy Club Party" in our future. We'll put the beer on ice Bud!

And speaking of our Chippy Club...Kevin & Irina gave us a ring....Hey Kevin & Irina....We're getting ready! :-)

We've had some beautiful weather here this last week, like 80 degrees and lots of sun...and to make things interesting...we are due to get snow this weekend. Yep....snow is on the way. It's almost cold enough now for snow.....Amazing. The one good thing about cold temps is what it does to the local Fauna.....

It's Friday...The weekend is almost here!

We're looking forward to our April snow this weekend....NOT!

Chris, a future member, sent us a nice funny for the weekend. Thanks Bud! Be careful in that paint-booth you crazy Okie! :-)

There was a farm boy who was ready for college and his dad proudly put him on the bus, bound for the university. He was a good boy, bright, inventive, and good with math. Well, in 4 years, he came back to the farm with his degree in engineering. His father was so very proud of him. He said, "Boy, let's see what all of my hard earned money went for." The boy said, "OK" The man said, "What did you learn in math class?" The boy said, "Many great things!" The man said, "Like what?" The boy thought that he should keep things simple for his father, and said, "Well, for example, pi R squared"
His father flew into a rage... "Get out of my house! You idiot! You don't know anything! All of that money down the drain! Get out!" The boy said, "Why? What's wrong?" The man yelled, "I may be a simple farmer but even I know that PIE are round and CAKE are squared!!!"

We're stopping by here this morning for a few announcements. First of all, instead of getting 2 feet of snow here by tomorrow, the forecast has been changed to only 1 foot on the ground by tomorrow night. We have a "Winter Storm Warning" for the weekend. Spring in Ohio.

We heard from Paul, he made it back to his nice warm home Down Under in Australia. Glad you had a nice trip Bud! The photos of you and Tanya were just great! Hey Paul....Put some beer on ice, jump into your pool, and please have a beer for us while you're thinking of all the snow we'll be getting here this weekend.

We also want to welcome Dominic to the group today. Dominic is an Englishman, which all but guarantees he's a good guy, and we're looking forward to our getting to know each other better and our working together. Hey Dominic! Life is about to get one Damn Sight more exciting Bud!

The snow is falling this morning, which is weird with all the leaves on the trees.

Anyway, we stopped by to announce that Niels & Marina got married yesterday!

We spoke on the phone yesterday, Niels promised to send us some wedding photos. And of course, we'll be sending these guys their "Chippy Club" T-Shirts! Niels & Marina make their home in Denmark, which happens to be a beautiful country. Way to go Guys!

We missed most of the snow here in Akron, only a few miles north of us they got "dumped-on." Spring in Ohio. Actually, Spring in the Northeast USA. Lots of people got "dumped-on" all over the place.

Bob & Elena got married on Friday, and they promised to send us some of their Wedding photos. Hey Guys! You need to plan on getting over here so we can have our "Chippy Club" induction ceremony! :-)

Ed & Alena sent us this photo taken after their wedding in the USA. As you probably remember, Ed & Alena did their Wedding Ceremony in Vitebsk for the family, and they got married here on Friday, April 15. Here's a beautiful photo of our Wonderfgul couple!

Jim C. sent us this little story a while ago....This is dedicated to all you folks who still don't have power from our snow-storm Sunday night. Lots of trees....full of Spring-leaves....snapped due to the weight of the snow and took power lines with them. Jim, this needs a few entries going up to April 24! :-) Thanks Bud!

Living in Paradise (aka Akron) :-) 

Jan. 10 5:00 P.M. It's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first one we've seen in years. The wife and I took our hot buttered rum and sat by the picture window, watching the soft flakes drift down, clinging to the trees and covering the ground. It was beautiful!

Jan. 11 We awoke to a lovely blanket of crystal white snow covering the landscape. What a fantastic sight. Every tree and shrub covered with a beautiful white mantle. I shoveled snow for the first time ever and loved it. I did both our driveway and our sidewalk. Later a city snowplow came along and accidentally covered up our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled and waved. I waved back and shoveled it again.

Jan. 12 It snowed an additional 5 inches last night, and the temperature has dropped to around 11degrees. Several limbs on the trees and shrubs snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shoveled our driveway again. Shortly afterwards, the snowplow came by and did his trick again. Much of the snow is now brownish-gray.

Jan. 13 Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush which soon became ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tires for both cars. Fell on my butt in the driveway. $145 to a chiropractor, but nothing was broken. More snow and ice expected.

Jan. 14 Still cold. Sold the wife's car and bought a 4x4 in order to get her to work. Slid into a guardrail anyway and did a considerable amount of damage to the right rear quarter-panel. Had another 8 inches of the white stuff last night. Both vehicles covered in salt and crud. More shoveling in store for me today. That darn snowplow came by twice today.

Jan. 15 -2 degrees outside. More blasted snow. Not a tree or shrub on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles and a kerosene heater, which tipped over and nearly burned the house down. I managed to put the flames out, but suffered second degree burns on my hands and lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows. Car slid on ice on way to emergency room and was totaled.

Jan.16 Darn blasted white snow keeps on coming down. Have to put on all the clothes we own just to get to the mailbox. If I ever catch the jerk that drives the snowplow, I'll chew open his chest and rip out his heart. I think he hides around the corner and waits for me to open our driveway again! Power still off. Toilet froze and part of the roof has started to cave in.

Jan.17 Six darn more inches of blasted snow and sleet and ice and God knows what other kind of white crap fell last night. I wounded the snowplow jerk with an ice ax, but he got away. Wife left me. Car won't start. I think I'm going snow blind. I can't move my toes. I haven't seen the sun in weeks. More snow predicted. Wind chill -62 degrees. I'm moving back to Albuquerque.
 

The good news is: It's almost May for God Sake!

Anyone see that Chimp on the news? The one who likes to smoke?

We saw him the other day, he lives in a Zoo somewhere in South Africa. People throw him cigarettes thru the cage, he sits around smoking and basically enjoying life. The way he looked.....the only thing he needs is a beer and he'd be having the "life of Riley."

We'll have to visit that Zoo someday with a 12-pack.

AHHHHH.....The wonders of the natural world.....

We will have A Damn Fine Weekend around here, we're having a "Chippy Club" Party today! Ed & Alena, and Kevin & Irina will be here, they will be inducted into the "Chippy Club"....Well, needless to say.....Life is good!

Also, we want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! Tomorrow is Russian Easter, as every guy with a Russian wife knows.

We'll post photos of our "Chippy Club" party in a couple days. There's nothing like having these get-togethers....It feels like "little Vitebsk" around here. :-)
